Submission Guidelines
If you
would like to submit content to Birth Essentials please take note of the following
guidelines.
Articles must be fact,
experience or evidence-based. If quoting others' material due reference
should be given with clear citations. If quoting statistics and research
findings they must be from primary research (such as a paper on a study
published in a peer reviewed medical journal) and not from opinion
pieces or books where someone is offering an opinion.
You can,
however, interview mothers to share their insights or experiences and
you can use your own stories to share insights and experiences about
different aspects of pregnancy, birth and early parent-hood.
Articles and Birth Stories
should make sure that the jargon used is not too technical. If you need
to use technical language please provide a list of definitions with your
article.
If you are submitting a piece
that has been published elsewhere please also submit information of
where the piece was originally published.
Article content should relate
in some way to caesareans, birth after caesareans, avoiding caesareans
or psycho-social aspects of birth.
Articles should be no more
than about 2000 words.
The editor of this website
reserves the right to edit submissions before putting them up on the
website.
Any
submission that is not deemed
to fit within the purpose and intent of these guidelines will not be
published on the website and an explanation will be provided to the
person submitting the article/piece.
Authors
retain copyright of their original works.
